PASTA POINT

In 1991, wanderer, explorer, surfer and adventurer, Tony Hussein Hinde, set up the first Maldives land- based surf tour at the little resort on the island of Kanuoiy Huraa in the North Male Atoll. He chose this location because of the quality and consistency of the Pasta Point surf break and the proximity to three other world class waves.

The old Tari Village resort may have given way to the luxurious Cinnamon Dhonveli resort but the surf is still as consistent as ever.

Staying at Cinnamon Dhonveli resort as a surfer means you are looked after by the experienced and knowledgeable Atoll Adventures team and have exclusive access to Pasta Point. Other breaks like Sultans, Honky’s, Jails, and Cokes are just a boat ride away.

WEATHER & SURF SEASON

A tropical climate means that air temperatures are consistently between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius and sea temperatures average between 28 and 30 degrees Celsius. Pasta Point and other nearby breaks are located in the North Male Atoll which is considered to be the best and most consistent in the Maldives.

The best time for surfing in the Maldives is the Southern Hemisphere winter which lasts from March to October. Peak season is usually June, July & August but it isn’t uncommon to experience decent sized swells in the early and late season.

Winds remain off-shore during this period and it is very rare to experience an on-shore day during this time.
